Willie Dixon.  Perhaps it’s a name I have heard before, but not one I have heard as much as I should have.  When I started researching Willie Dixon and listening to him, it occurred to me the Willie is not only the Godfather of Chicago Blues, he is the Godfather of Rock and Roll.  He influenced so many of the artists from the 60s and 70s that we have long thought of as the beginning.  Well, I am here to tell you, as you should already know, that it’s all rooted in blues.  In fact Willie sued Led Zeppelin for ripping off this song.

Good for you, Willie. You put it best when you said,  “The blues are the roots and the other musics are the fruits…As long as American Music survives, so will the blues…” – Willie Dixon
